WELCOME

Iowa and Colorado Representatives

Dear representative, my name is Ricaurte (Ricky) Arrocha, current Board of Trustees Member, Past Potentate for Abou Saad Shriners and I’m humbled and honored to present myself as a candidate for Shriners Hospitals for Children Board of Trustees in the upcoming election during our Imperial Session in Reno Nevada.  With your support this would be my Second (3 year) Term as a Member of our Board of Trustees for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

My life as a freemason has been blessed with many opportunities for learning, great brotherhood and most definitely a ton of work, but by far the most rewarding has been the opportunities devoted to helping children from all corners of the world through the miraculous work that our Shriners Hospitals accomplish every day.

So, what do I bring to the table and why would I be a good choice to be on the Board of Trustees?

First, let me begin by saying that I consider myself fiscally conservative. In my book, a penny saved is a penny earned, still... so being efficient is at the top of my list.

I'm fluent in English and Spanish and considering that a large volume of patients seen in the US are from abroad (mostly from Mexico), I'd say it would be an advantage to be able to better understand the children and families we serve.

I've always been a firm believer in establishing strategic alliances with public and private sectors when necessary. As a result of some of my work, Shriners Hospitals were able to achieve a good first step into increasing our ability to help more kids in Latin America. I think we could do more of that and helping different countries help themselves will be important in the long run. My understanding of Latin America and established relationships would be a plus in that area, so we may help more children in more places closer to their home, while keeping efficiency as a priority on the financial side.

I have had the great privilege of serving at the Board of Governors in the Mexico City Hospital... by far the busiest hospital, as it sees the largest percentage of all Shriners inpatients in the entire system.

I'm currently serving in 10 of our Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children Standing Committees and those that know me better will tell you I'm a Team Player FULLY committed to the Shriners Mission.

My vision and focus are to provide 100% of my time and experience to our Hospitals, to improve and expand Shriners Healthcare around the Globe.

So, I humbly ask for one of your votes for the Board of Trustees in our upcoming election in Reno, Nevada.

Please read the brief summary of my personal/professional and masonic life and thank you for your support!!
